Diaphragm Valves for handling solid or powder

Catalogue#: 090351799

Iris Diaphragm Valves (IDV's) are used in all bulk materials process industries, due to their high degree of material flow control, coupled with rugged design. Valves are available to suit a wide range of applications; from heavy-duty open discharge and in-line process systems to light duty valve operations on portable bins.

There are six types of IDV making up the Iris range: AD, BD, C, E, H & K. Nine bore sizes are available (not all available for each type), with a compliment of eleven diaphragm materials to suit almost any flow control application in the dry bulk solids industry.

Further information on the principles of the Iris Diaphragm Valve can be found here

Series BD
These valves offer a simplified construction compared to other in-line IDV's reducing cost, size and weight. Features include:-
  • Double diaphragm for in-line applications with no leakage to atmosphere.
  • Suitable for lighter duty, upto 560 kg/m³.
  • Simple design, suitable for applications requiring infrequent operation.
  • Bore sizes from 50 mm to 300 mm.
  • Diaphragms selected to suit application.
  • Standard available with thumbscrew locking for 50 mm to 80 mm bores, giving infinite flow control.
  • Trigger locking mechanism on other sizes.
Construction. Body parts are manufactured from aluminium, zinc and bronze alloys. Plastic triggers and 316 stainless steel fasteners help combat corrosion. Options include: -
  • Thumbscrew locking on all trigger operated valves.
  • A variety of coatings are available for corrosive environments

SERIES C

Series C
The Series C Valve has been specifically designed to allow diaphragm removal without removal of the valve body from situ, dramatically reducing 'down time' when servicing and allows the use of different diaphragms for each batch, preventing cross contamination. Other benefits include: -
  • Single diaphragm, reducing spares costs.
  • Internally mounted felt seals prevent product leakage making the valve suitable for in-line applications.
  • Robust construction and diaphragm clamping make the valve suitable for medium duties upto 1120 kg/m³.
  • In-situ diaphragm adjustment.
  • Suitable for frequent operation.
  • Bore sizes ranging from 100 mm to 300 mm.
  • Diaphragms selected to suit application.
Construction. Body parts are manufactured from aluminium, zinc and bronze alloys. Plastic triggers and 316 stainless steel fasteners help combat corrosion. Options available: -
  • 316 stainless steel construction.
  • Nylon or PTFE seals.
  • A variety of surface coatings for corrosive applications.
  • TELEFLEX remote hand operation on all sizes with standard construction.
